📦 Ordering & Shipping

How long will it take to receive my order?
We ship all orders within 1–2 business days. Delivery time depends on your location:

  • Australia: 2–8 business days

  • International: 7–14 business days (some destinations may take longer)

All orders are shipped via Australia Post with tracking and signature on delivery.

Can I track my order?
Yes, absolutely! Once your order is shipped, you'll receive an email with tracking details and a link to follow your parcel via Australia Post.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we offer free worldwide shipping with full tracking and insurance. Please note that delivery times vary based on your country.

Is my opal insured during shipping?
Yes! All our parcels are fully insured during transit for their full value. Your opal will arrive securely packaged and protected.


Pricing, Customs & Taxes

Are there any additional customs or duties?
This depends on your country’s regulations. We provide all necessary documentation to help clear customs smoothly. Here's a quick guide:

  • USA & Canada: No duty on polished gems. Orders over $2,000 USD may require a declaration.

  • UK: No duty on polished opals or jewellery.

  • New Zealand: No duty on orders under $1,000 NZD.

  • Japan: No duty on orders under 200,000 JPY. Customs forms may apply for high-value items.

Please check with your local customs office for specifics.


Opal Quality & Authenticity

Are your opals natural?
Yes, all our opals are 100% natural Australian opals, ethically sourced and hand-selected for their colour, quality, and uniqueness.

Do you edit or enhance your product images?
Never. We provide unedited, true-to-life photos and videos to help you choose confidently. However, colour may vary slightly due to screen differences.

How are your opals graded or described?
Each opal listing includes details like weight (carats), dimensions, shape, body tone, and dominant colours. Descriptions are written with care to reflect the stone’s true appearance and potential uses (e.g., ring, pendant).


Returns & Support

What if my opal arrives damaged?
While this is rare, we’ve got you covered.
Please:

  1. Keep all packaging

  2. Take clear photos of the damage

  3. Contact us at info@onlyaustralianopals.com

We’ll guide you through our Returns Procedure and make it right.

Can I return an opal if I change my mind?
Returns are handled case-by-case. If you’re unsure about a stone before purchasing, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to send more photos or videos.
